Regulations

  • All plants and cut flowers must be grown by the exhibitor for at least 3 months before the show.
  • Fresh and dried flower arrangements may contain items from any source.
  • All exhibits must be disease free and devoid of weeds.
  • All hanging plants must have robust hangers and hooks to enable easy display.
  • All plants cannot have a pot size exceeding 420mm and must be accompanied by a saucer underneath (excluding orchids and hanging plants).
  • All plants must be able to be lifted easily by the exhibitor or their representative.
  • AV = Any Variety

Entry Fees: Non-Members $2.40; Members/Pensioners/Seniors $1.20 (orchids excepted)

Entries Close: Friday 10 May (exception is orchids & adeniums where entries will be taken when the exhibits are delivered on Friday 24), no late entries will be accepted.

Orchids

Litchfield Orchid Club and Nightcliff Orchid Society will generously cover all entry fees for orchids classes, in their endeavor to encourage interest in the growing and showing of orchids in the Northern Territory.

Orchids entries will be taken up to the time of delivering the exhibits.

Horticulture – Junior

Diorama definition – a three-dimensional miniature life-like scene in which figures, animals, figurines, or other objects are arranged in a naturalistic setting.   Fresh and/or dried natural materials must be included.  Figures and figurines may be made from plastic, modelling clay or any other medium. Shoebox dioramas must be no larger than 25cm x 40cm x 25cm high.

  • Fresh and Dried Arrangements are to be delivered to the Horticulture Pavilion on Friday 24 May, 7.30 am – 11 am
  • Figures (eg animal, bird) made from fruit or vegetables must be presented on a firm base no larger than 20cm x 20cm.
  • Seeds and seed pod exhibits can be done as a wall plaque glued onto small plastic plate or similar, with a hanging cord attached.
  • If entering from a school or community group, please enter only 5 from each group in each class, due to space restrictions.
